The coat is immediately recognizable in spite of the very clear alterations. Fraying or damaged material has been excised to allow a foothold for the new fabric-- a sizable amount has been trimmed from the bottom, the back panel replaced in its entirety. These portions have been visibly mended, making no effort to hide the difference between the new and old.
